• About Benjamin Perlin

Focused on ways to give back to the community, Benjamin Perlin has volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank, Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes, and Habitat for Humanity. At present, he works at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Nashville. Through this organization, Benjamin Perlin connects people in difficult financial situations with affordable furniture and construction supplies. He receives donations from contractors and other community members and then organizes items so that customers can easily find what they need. His store has offered a number of unique items, such as airplane windows, which were later installed in a recording studio.

A photographer at heart, Benjamin Perlin instinctively sees the world through framed shots. He uses several film cameras, including a 1955 Zeiss Ikon Contessa that he purchased from a bookseller stand. He prefers using film to digital cameras and learning about the science behind photography and photographic processing.

Some of Benjamin Perlin’s hobbies include sailing, traveling, and karate. He has visited Tokyo and Kyoto, as well as London, Paris, and Amsterdam. At present, he is a black-belt candidate in karate.
