This spring, Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville is rolling out a new program aimed at encouraging local businesses to take an active role in fighting hunger in the local community. The Businesses Ignite To End Hunger (BITE) program will pit participating businesses in friendly competition against one another as they try to bring in items via food drives and host online campaigns to raise funds for the food bank.
To promote fair competition there will be three different categories for businesses, depending on the size of the organization. Employees at these companies can also get extra points for their teams by racking up volunteer hours at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The competition will be featured in the Nashville Business Journal, with the food bank spotlighting the winners in each category.
